Patient transport in a long-term care facility is different from occasional equipment use. A transfer stretcher may be used repeatedly throughout the day to move residents between rooms, treatment areas, rehabilitation spaces and other departments. It therefore needs to support both the patient and the caregivers who operate it as part of their daily workflow.
The JH-PC101 hydraulic patient transfer stretcher is designed for professional facilities that require a robust and versatile patient transport platform. It combines a 320 kg safe working load, 630–930 mm hydraulic height adjustment, multi-position patient support, stainless steel folding side rails, central braking and a retractable fifth wheel.
Large 200 mm medical casters, an X-ray translucent HPL patient platform, oxygen cylinder storage, IV pole support and a removable washable mattress cover further increase its practicality for repeated institutional use.
The JH-PC101 provides a specified safe working load of 320 kg.
For nursing homes and long-term care facilities serving residents with different body weights and mobility levels, a clearly defined SWL helps equipment managers evaluate whether the stretcher is suitable for the intended patient population.
Load capacity should always be considered together with patient dimensions, transfer procedures and the facility's own care requirements.
Two hydraulic cylinders control the overall height of the patient platform between approximately 630 mm and 930 mm.
Instead of working with one fixed stretcher height, caregivers can adjust the platform according to the surrounding equipment and patient handling situation.
Long-term care facilities may use different types of nursing beds across resident rooms. Adjustable stretcher height provides greater flexibility when the transport equipment needs to be positioned beside beds with different mattress platform heights.
The stretcher can be adjusted before the assisted transfer begins and then secured using the central braking system.
The stretcher is equipped with stainless steel folding side rails approximately 1240 mm long. When raised, the rails extend approximately 430 mm above the patient platform.
Reinforced zinc die-cast components are used in the rail locking structure.
When caregivers need closer access to a resident, the side rail can be folded down to open the side of the patient platform.
After the patient has been positioned correctly, the rail can be raised and locked again before transportation.
This allows one rail system to serve two different stages of the workflow: open access during assisted transfer and lateral protection during movement.
The backrest can be adjusted between approximately 0° and 85° using a gas-spring assisted mechanism.
This allows the upper body to be repositioned from a flat position to a substantially raised posture according to the patient's care requirements.
The knee section provides approximately 0–40° of adjustment and is operated using the supplied manual crank.
The stretcher also provides an overall tilt adjustment range of approximately 0–18°.
Together with hydraulic height adjustment, these functions give caregivers multiple positioning options while the patient remains supported on the stretcher.
The JH-PC101 is equipped with four 200 mm medical casters connected to a central braking system.
Instead of operating four separate caster brakes individually, caregivers can secure the caster system through the foot-operated central brake controls.
A transfer stretcher may need to move and stop repeatedly during the day. Central braking simplifies the transition between mobile and stationary use when staff arrive at a resident room, treatment space or rehabilitation area.
The brake linkage uses an integrated round-tube structure designed to provide additional structural strength for repeated operation.
An independent retractable fifth wheel is integrated into the center of the chassis, with operating pedals available on both sides.
When engaged, the fifth wheel helps maintain the forward direction of the stretcher. This is particularly useful when transporting patients along longer corridors within larger care facilities.
When the center wheel is retracted, the stretcher returns to free movement on the four main casters.
This allows caregivers to change from directional transport to more flexible maneuvering when entering rooms, turning in shared spaces or positioning the stretcher beside a nursing bed.
Four 70 × 80 mm bumper wheels are positioned around the corners of the stretcher.
They provide additional perimeter protection during routine movement through corridors, doorways and shared care spaces where the stretcher may come into contact with surrounding equipment or structures.
The standard mattress measures approximately 1840 × 600 × 80 mm.
Its outer surface has a water-resistant treatment and incorporates a zipper, allowing the external cover to be removed for washing.
This is particularly practical for shared transfer equipment that may be used by different patients as part of the facility's daily care routine.
When evaluating transfer equipment for institutional use, buyers should consider not only movement and positioning functions but also how easily patient-contact surfaces can be cleaned between uses.
A storage tray is integrated beneath the patient platform and can be used to carry an oxygen cylinder during patient transportation.
The lower tray has a specified load capacity of 20 kg.
This allows compatible oxygen support equipment to remain together with the stretcher when a patient needs respiratory support during movement within the facility.
The standard configuration includes one IV pole and four standard IV pole sockets.
An integrated IV pole storage holder is also provided, giving caregivers a dedicated location to store the pole when it is not required.
This helps keep frequently used patient-support equipment organized on the stretcher rather than relying entirely on separate mobile accessories.
The patient support platform is manufactured from HPL material and measures approximately 1926 × 620 × 6 mm.
The material provides a strong and dimensionally stable support surface while allowing X-ray transmission through the platform.
This feature gives the stretcher additional clinical flexibility when it is used in professional care environments where diagnostic imaging access may be required.
Caregivers can position the stretcher beside the nursing bed, adjust the hydraulic height and engage the central brake before beginning the assisted transfer.
The folding side rail can be lowered to provide closer lateral access. Once the patient is positioned correctly, the rail can be raised and securely locked.
The backrest, knee section and platform position can be adjusted according to the care requirement. The fifth wheel can be engaged when greater directional control is useful along longer routes.
The fifth wheel can be retracted to restore free caster movement for turning and final positioning.
The central brake can secure the stretcher before the next patient handling or care procedure begins.
The removable mattress cover can be taken off for washing as part of the facility's routine equipment cleaning process.
Confirm that the 320 kg safe working load and patient platform dimensions are suitable for the residents who will use the equipment.
Compare the 630–930 mm stretcher height range with the nursing beds and other patient-support surfaces used throughout the facility.
The overall stretcher size is approximately 2140 × 910 mm. Buyers should check doorways, corridors, elevators and turning spaces along the intended transfer routes.
For facilities expecting frequent use, consider how the central braking system, fifth-wheel steering and 200 mm casters fit into the caregiver's normal workflow.
Consider how patient-contact surfaces will be cleaned between users. The supplied mattress has a water-resistant surface and removable washable outer cover.
If patients may require oxygen or infusion support during transportation, the integrated oxygen cylinder tray and IV pole configuration should be considered as part of the complete transfer system.

The JH-PC101 is designed for professional facilities that need a high-capacity patient transport platform for repeated daily use. Rather than focusing on one individual function, its configuration brings together patient positioning, hydraulic height adjustment, side access, braking, steering and clinical support equipment.
For nursing homes and long-term care projects, this combination can be evaluated as part of the facility's wider patient-handling system, including nursing beds, transfer routes, caregiver workflow and supporting equipment.
